DACA Renewal Time

The first DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) approvals will start expiring in September of 2014. DACA gave a temporary status to over half a million young people who were brought to the U.S. illegally by their parents. Under the DACA program, they can live and work legally in this country. The status was granted for two years with a possibility to extend it for another two years.

One must apply for renewal of the DACA status prior to the expiration of his/her current DACA status. One can apply for renewal as soon as 120 days (four months) prior to the expiration of the current DACA status. There are couple forms that need to be filed and the filing fee is $465 including biometrics.
